It feels like fall this morning as Thanksgiving weekend begins. I was at the Elmira Farmers Market this morning and local produce for our Thanksgiving meals with family and friends was in abundance!
During a campaign it’s easy to focus on what’s wrong, what needs to be done differently or better. I’m not sure that’s always a good thing.
Instead, let’s remind ourselves just how lucky we are to live in Woolwich, in Canada, and in these times.
We are lucky to live in a free society, able to vote, worship and think according to our conscience. We generally don’t suffer from extreme weather or natural disasters. We are a peaceful country and safe compared to so many parts of the world. We still have hope that the Leafs will win the Cup.
But most of all, we are thankful for the community of family and friends we live in. That was quite evident as I attended the Floradale Fire Department Open house and BBQ.
Seeing so many friends and neighbors out supporting our volunteer firefighters really shows me what a great place we call home.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving shared with family and friends!
